Embracing Change - How Microsoft Teams calling has transformed remote work

It's safe to say that our work lives have done a complete 180, thanks to the power of Microsoft Teams and particularly Teams Calling. Let's take a moment to appreciate how this game-changing feature has transformed our remote work experience from "meh" to "amazing!"

Remote work demands an integrated communication platform. Microsoft Teams goes beyond traditional phone calls, offering an impressive suite of features including video calls, conference calls, instant messaging and file sharing.

Back in the day, we juggled a dozen apps for chats, video calls, and file sharing. It felt like a lot! Microsoft Teams brought all these together eliminating the need to juggle a bunch of different applications, reducing clutter and streamlining collaboration. The result? An environment where communication flows seamlessly.

Remote work is no longer a barrier. Teams Calling has transcended geographical boundaries, allowing remote workers to communicate as if they were in the same room. Whether it's a quick question, an important update, or a brainstorming session, a simple call bridges the gap, fostering real-time interactions that text-based communication can't replicate.

How does Teams Calling work?

Teams Calling operates on a cloud-based infrastructure. This means that the communication data, such as calls and messages, are transmitted over the internet. This cloud-based setup means you can make and receive calls from all your devices, using the calling features within the Microsoft Teams app, which is available on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. The interface allows you to manage your contacts, initiate calls, and access call history.

Connect anytime, anywhere. You’re no longer tied to your office phone or cell phone. Teams Calls will reach you anywhere you have connectivity, giving you flexibility to manage your time more effectively. It's transformed us from isolated remote workers into work anywhere workers, seamlessly connecting us, fostering collaboration, and bringing a slice of the office camaraderie to our home offices.

Embrace the change. We're riding the wave of remote work transformation, and with Teams Calling we will be productive anywhere and connected like never before.

Data Privacy Day has been internationally observed on 28 January since 2007. Its purpose is to raise awareness and promote best privacy and data protection practices. It serves as an excellent reminder of exactly how precious our data is, as well as our ethical and legal obligations as businesses to securely manage and protect it. So, in terms of data privacy, how have we fared here in New Zealand? Why is data governance so important - what is it, and why exactly do you need it? Warning – triggering content: It may not be your job to manage data – and you may not think you even need to care about it. But if you are a stakeholder, it’s your responsibility to make sure that your business complies with New Zealand’s privacy and data protection best practices. This is a big topic (sorry!), so it’s in two parts.
